A fascinating thought

Do you ever feel so busy, rushed and all-over-the-place that it’s become part of who you think you are?

That it seems like there’s no hope of slowing down because this is “just how it is”?

Maybe you even think:

“There’s nothing I can do about any of this.  I just have to suck it up and be miserable.”

As a result, you carry a heavy burden of stress and anxiety that starts to negatively affect your mood and relationships, which in turn starts to affect your ability to eat well, move regularly and sleep better.


This is VERY common.  You’re not crazy.

Truth is, sometimes you really do just have to “suck it up”.

But, there might be value in stepping back and asking yourself:  “Is this really true?” 

“Am I really stuck?”

One way to do that, which I’ve found to really add value to my life, is to ask myself a simple, yet powerful question...


“What could happen in 30 years?”

Like, if I can do things exactly as I’m doing them right now for the next 3 decades, what could happen?  What might things be like in 2054?

You’re getting “Back To The Future” vibes aren’t you?  

GREAT SCOTT!

When you try that thought exercise, you might realize, “Uh-oh, what I’m doing right now isn’t effective, sustainable or helpful.”

And that very thought could open the portal for you to consider other options.

Here’s where we almost always go wrong.

We want the fix to be instant.

It doesn’t work that way.

But it can get you thinking about possibilities and solutions instead of just accepting things the way they are in 2024.

It’s worth noting:  When we share advice like this, we sometimes get feedback like, “Some of us don’t have the luxury to think like this.”

There’s definitely truth to that, but I’d argue that everyone could “think” about it.

So, please know, this isn’t universal advice that everyone will find helpful.  But, using it as a way to assess the sustainability of what you’re currently experiencing and what you might want your life to look like, could inspire you to work on making a positive change.

Even if those changes are itty bitty at first.

Thinking about 2054 might just help you get unstuck in 2024?  A more compelling future could be as close as 2025, ya never know (or even September 17th).
